My Story
I've had an interest in the mind from a young age. Human beings and their behaviour has always fascinated me. In 1994 I decided to qualify as a personal trainer to help people achieve their health and fitness goals. During this time I became particularly curious about what happens in the mind to motivate someone to change their behaviour.
I decided in 2000 to do my Masters degree in Psychology to learn more about this intriguing area. I gained some great knowledge on the course and began seeing clients. However my obsession with learning and helping others meant I wanted to study more. I wanted a larger tool box of techniques to make change possible for more people. I decided to train further as a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist.
In 2001, my love of teaching led me to take a part time lecturing post on a sport and exercise degree programme where I created and delivered a module teaching cognitive behaviour therapy and other counselling and coaching skills to future health coaches. I believe that continuous learning and development is essential as a practitioner and I still attend numerous workshops and courses every year as well as doing a lot of private study.
For the past 15 years I have been seeing clients for a range of personal and professional issues and have been fortunate enough to help hundreds of people during this time. My experience and passion for both my field and helping people just like you gives me the belief that I can find the right techniques and strategies to help you change.
Anyway that's my story and I look forward to hearing yours and helping you to change it if it's not making you happy....
